ABOUT THE MOVIE:

Our Kuya Daniel, Mr. Public Service, has recently proven his God given talents are immeasurable. Not only a broadcaster, singer, composer, entreprenuer, he is also now an actor and a director at the same time. Watch this very unique movie that will touch the heart of each and every Filipino, and revitalize morality and dignity that we all need in this perilous times.

The film is about a good jeepney driver and how he continues to inspire the people in his community to do good despite all the odds. Also starring in this film are Emilio Garcia, Rey PJ Abellana, Robert Miller, Natasha Ledesma and Arnel Ignacio. TV and film director Lito De Guzman wrote the screenplay.

Kuya Daniel Razon is the latest addition in the world of digital filmmaking. Also known as Mr. Public Service, Kuya Daniel gives his creative flair to bring into the big screen his vision for his advocacy Isang Araw Lang.

His campaign started as a massive call for everyone to render what they can offer to the needy. Now, supporters of Kuya Daniel and his Isang Araw Lang campaign have something indie to look forward to.

Advocates of the call and fans of the Kuya ng Bayan will surely find it easy to relate to the story as it tells of a good samaritan being harassed by a government official.

“Basically, [the film hopes to] open the minds of the many viewers that you can still come up with good stories that portray the real things that are happening in society… that they can see that there is something we can do even in the smallest way,” Kuya Daniel said when asked what the moral of his film is.

This is his directorial debut film where, also for the first time, Kuya Daniel is playing the lead character role in a motion picture. The trailer and the-making video can be seen on Youtube video below:

While this may be his first directorial full-length film, Kuya Daniel is not a novice in directing. He is a public servant and a TV personality, a veteran broadcaster and host of Good Morning, Kuya! He was also a professor of TV and film production and direction at the Centro Escolar University.

Co-starring Kuya Daniel are digital film regulars, Rey PJ Abellana, a heartthrob movie actor in the 80s, and Emilio Garcia, who recently won best acting award from the Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Greece.

Abellana compliments Kuya Daniel’s acting. He said that “He is excellent as an actor!”

Kuya Daniel, who is considered as one of the best and credible broadcasters on and off camera, was also seen of action-star potential by Robert Miller, a professional action stuntman and is one of the bad guys in the Isang Araw Lang film.

Making a digital film with a clean storyline such as Isang Araw Lang is yet another step forward to inspire every one to participate doing simple acts of goodwill even for just one day.

Written by Lito de Guzman, Isang Araw Lang The Movie is produced by Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International (BMPI). Other casts of the movie include comedian, Arnel Ignacio, Natasha Ledesma, and Pondahan regulars: Rene Jose, Eloisa Cruz Canlas, Tony Arevalo, Ryan Ramos, Krist Melecio, Mayumi Lugod, and Robbie Packing.

Isang Araw Lang The Movie is anticipated to be a blockbuster hit once its play-date rolls. Proceeds of the digital film will benefit the Kamanggagawa Foundation Transient Home and other public service programs of Kuya Daniel Razon. (Anne Gonzales)

  1. I’ve seen this movie and highly recommend it!

I likened the moral message of the movie, as well as the Isang Araw Lang media campaign that inspired it, to Chief Justice Puno’s Moral Force Movement, in my blog JOURNEYIST. I think they have similar objectives although with dissimilar focus and modus operandi. =)
