You are invited to the Divine Mercy Congress on August 1, 2009, Saturday, to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, South Hall, 1201 South Figueroa St. , Los Angeles , Ca 90015, from 7 am to 8 pm.

This spiritual event is jointly sponsored by Hombre Nuevo/Guadalupe Radio, under Fr. Juan Rivas, Legionaries of Christ, and the Divine Mercy Evangelization Movement, a lay organization founded in 1999, under its Spiritual Directors, Msgr. James Lougnane, Pastor of St. Denis, Diamond Bar, and Fr. Joseph Visperas, Pastor, St. Paul of the Cross, La Mirada .

The Congress Theme is “Jesus, Our Healer and Strength”.
TALKS, MINI CONCERT, CONFESSION & HEALING MASS

We have invited great speakers, namely:

Fr. Fernando Suarez, Companions of the Cross, is a world renowned healing priest who will talk on “Complete Trust in Jesus, the Healer”. He will also celebrate the healing mass and conduct a healing service.

Fr. Edward Broom, Oblates of the Virgin Mary, is an Associate Pastor of St. Peter Chanel, Hawaiian Gardens who is a dynamic speaker as a retreat master for several years, will speak on “Mary and Forgiveness”.

Fr. Kazimierz Chwalek, Marians of the Immaculate Conception, is the Vicar Provincial and Director of Evangelization and Development of the Marians, as well as a member of the Executive Committee of the World Apostolic Congress on Mercy and North American Congress on Mercy. He will team up with Marie Romagnano, RN and founder of the Divine Mercy for the Health Professional, on the topic, “The Divine Mercy Message and Devotion for the Sick, Injured, and Dying. Doctors, nurses, caregivers can benefit much from this topic.

Donna Lee, accomplished Artist and Unity award recipient, will give her personal testimony and a concert on “God is Rich in Mercy”.

Donation: Adults $25 each, after 7/19/09 and at the door, $30. Children over 5 years $10. Free admission for priests and are invited to con-celebrate the mass and help hear confession.

The LA Convention South hall has a 15,000 seating capacity. For the glory of God, let us fill up the hall to witness the mercy of the Lord overflowing to all these souls! If you need posters and flyers, please let us know and we will gladly send you these materials.

All Divine Mercy groups and other Church organizations interested to participate in the procession for the opening ceremony may bring their banners and must coordinate with the Divine Mercy Evangelization Movement at tel. no: (714) 469-3161 or (562) 972-5675. For every 10 registered, paid for registrations of a prayer group, 1 complimentary ticket is given out as an incentive.

Update 07-15-09: Thank you for volunteering to assist the organizers. At this time, all positions are filled except for
1. Experienced Male Catchers during the Healing Service.
2. Divine Mercy promoters who can sell Congress tickets to their parish, prayer group, friends and family. Please contact organizers directly and they will give you registration and Congress tickets. For every 10 tickets sold, 1 complimentary ticket will be issued by Hombre Nuevo.

Also, please sign up or help us recruit volunteers. We need at least 400 volunteers for the following areas of service. Kindly email their names, telephone number, email, parish, and indicate which area of volunteer service. Volunteers are being asked to donate $5 for their admission tickets and allowed to bring 2 guests per volunteer who will purchase their admission tickets discounted to $5 each person.

UPDATE 07-16-09
a. Lead volunteers are required to attend the briefing on Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 5-7 pm, at the Hombre Nuevo/Guadalupe Radio office in El Monte ( Address:12036 Ramona Blvd. El Monte , Ca 9732. Tel. (626) 444-4442 ext. 139.
b. The mandatory volunteer’s meeting is Saturday, July 25, 2009, from 5-7 pm, at the Hombre Nuevo/Guadalupe Radio office in El Monte. Briefing and tickets will be issued to volunteers at this meeting by Hombre Nuevo. Those volunteers unable to attend this meeting due to valid reason, must contact Estrelle Mijares at 562-972-5675 or Angel Mijares (714) 469-3161 or email us at angelstar73@earthlink.net by July 19, 2009.
c. Eucharistic Ministers are required to submit a certification or letter from their Pastor attesting to their status as Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. They will also be assigned to help either the registration or to usher people, wherever they are most needed.
d. The attire for all volunteers is red blouse/polo shirt and black pants. Their admission tickets will be issued by Hombre Nuevo at the mandatory meeting. If they were not able to attend the mandatory meeting, then the volunteers will be briefed at 6 am at the LA Convention Center where they will pick up their admission tickets from the designated booth for volunteers.
e. All volunteers must be at the LA Convention Center South Hall no later than 6:00 am. They will be given a wrist band for identification and their assigned tasks.
f. A donation of $5.00 each volunteer is requested, with the check payable to Hombre Nuevo and received on or before Friday, July 17, 2009. Mailing address: Divine Mercy Evangelization Movement, 321 N. Vallejo St. La Habra Ca 90631.
g. Please pray for the success of the Divine Mercy Congress. May our Lord bless our volunteers with God’s unfathomable mercy and pour out His graces on them.
