Reach Out To Educate Foundation Launching on June 27
You are all invited to a “Party for a Cause” to help launch the new foundation, Reach Out To Educate, this Saturday, June 27, 2009. The event will be held at the Rec Center Studio, 1161 Logan St cor. Sunset Blvd (Echo Park), Los Angeles, CA 90026. The $30.00 Admission includes Buffet Dinner.
Mission: To beat poverty and malnutrition through education.
Reach Out to Educate Foundation was inspired by the numerous documentaries that the founders saw in The Filipino Channel (TFC) and GMA 7. Undernourished adults and children are driven to forage the spoiled leftover food from garbage cans, or recycle spoiled foods to be able to provide food for their family. Studies have shown that severe cases of malnutrition and undernourishment have a significant adverse impact on the individuals and the society where they reside. Malnourished children grow up with health issues and low educational achievements. As such, they start their lives at a disadvantage.
This foundation’s response is to provide ACE to the teachers, parents and children at the grass root level in the Philippines.
A – Access to resources
C – Consultation through education
E – Empowerment to make informed decisions for a better future.
The Reach Out Founaiton believes that good health and sound education are social equalizers. As more Filipinos are educated them in proper nutrition and equipped with the knowledge and enhance their skills, our kababayans are empowered to build a better future. Reach Out to Educate is looking forward in making this dream a reality in the years to come.
