California is not alone when it comes to screwing up higher education. Ohio is starting to make a (very) little headway in reviving its limbering system.

There is an article in the Buffalo News, dated May 12, 2008, "Proposed state aid cuts threaten to halt growth at SUNY schools" states that the freeze will cost SUNY at Buffalo, $16 million.

This is before the the NYS Division of budgets ordered all state agencies to reduce spending by 3.3%. This $110 million freeze wasn't bad enough, SUNY was already reeling from a $38 million cut in the new state budget. The kicker is that the freeze of $110 million will not save the state any money!

I do agree that some cuts can be made in the brick and mortor projects, leave the current services and education improvements in place.
