In a press conference February 20, 2008 at the Philippine Consulate, “New-kid-on-the-block†production company NuVision Worldwide Media announced the launching of the First Annual “Visionary Awards†on Friday, March 7, 2008 at the world famous Kodak Theater, home of Hollywood’s biggest event. The multi-entertainment company is involved in international as well as mainstream music, films, soundtracks, videos, live events, concerts, promotions, sales and marketing.

One component of NuVision Worldwide Media is to develop and expand its projects, affiliations, associations and programming to involve Filipino and Filipino-American talent and to provide content to Philippine counterparts as well as other Asian markets worldwide.
Philippine-based entertainers and performers have already accepted the invitation to appear at the star-studded event, including:
Dolphy (Legend Award for Comedy);
Philippine Senator Robert Jaworski (Lifetime Achievement Award for Sports & Public Service);
Tito, Vic & Joey (Outstanding Variety Show Hosts);
Francis Magalona (Pioneer Award for Music);
Bong Revilla (Visionary Award for Honor & Courage);
Manny Pacquiao (Athlete of the Year);
Philippine Senator Ramon Revilla, Sr. (Vanguard Award for Entertainment/Action Performances);
Others that have been invited to attend from the Philippines include Sharon Cuneta (Legend Award for Acting), Bea Alonzo (Outstanding Performance – Actress), Richard Gutierrez (Outstanding Performance – Actor), Christopher de Leon (Legend Award for Acting) and Vilma Santos (Legend Award for Entertainment).
Featuring performances by Kuh Ledesma, Martin Nievera, Anna Marie Perez de Tagle (from “Hannah Montanaâ€), NONOSINA, and singer Jessa Zaragoza among other surprises.
Along with other Philippine entertainers, will be joined by an array of Filipino American artists who have been invited to attend, including Apl.de.Ap (Vanguard Award for Music), Lou Diamond Phillips and Tia Carrere (both have been awarded the Visionary Vanguard Award for Entertainment), Cheryl Burke, Rob Schneider, Nicole Scherzinger (from the Pussycat Dolls) Dante Basco, Dean Devlin and Cris Judd.
The gala evening will be hosted by Philippine-based performer Fernando “DingDong†Avanzado and producer/host of KSCI channel 18’s “Kababayan L.A.â€, Jannelle So.
The production team is headed by Hollywood director/producer Douglas Velasco, five-time Emmy-award winning writer Craig Heller, Art Director/Set Designer Scott Heineman (Art Directors Guild Award winner) and primetime Emmy Award Lighting Designer, Jeff Ravitz. The live show will be taped for broadcast on KSCI-TV, Channel 18, on March 16, 2008 4:30-6:00 p.m. PST.
